Your Version CEO, Dan Olsen, wrote a great presentation about Web 2.0 Product Management,Optimizing Metrics & Viral Growth. The thing that I found very interesting is the separation that Dan did between the marketing role and the product management role.
I am keep telling my clients the exact same thing. The product manager should focus on user retention while providing a better user experience and understand what is that they were looking for.
There are also slides which basically discuss what we always talk about, things like tracking your metrics over time, have the relevant metrics working for you.
